Living a Quiet Life..Mind your own Business

1 Thessalonians 4:11
and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you,

1 Thessalonians 4 : 10
for indeed you do practice it toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, to excel still more, 11and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you, 12so that you will behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need.

DISCREET IS BETTER THAN OPEN BOOK, PEOPLE ARE JUST CURIOUS ABOUT U BUT DOESNT REALLY CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE GOING THROUGH. THE INFORMATION AND SECRECY YOU MAY PASS TO OTHERS WILL JUST CONTINUE TO ANOTHER TOUNGE AND EAR. THEN IN THE END, YOUR LIFE IS A CIRCUS.
People really doesn't care what matters, but are curious on what happens in your life. Wether you are out or inside your household. Wether your dead nor alive, they just want to hear you. But those who believe and trusting the Lord, will surely come to you and ask how you are without proclaiming the whole world what they do for you. People who truly love are not gossipers, people who truly love does not parade itself, does not expect in return.
When people loves you, they will try the best to help you rather than speak.
When people loves you, they will try to lift you up to God rather than point your mistakes and gossip about it.
When people love you, they will tell you your mistakes and instruct you how to become a better person.
So its better you have few friends whom are true to God and true to you.
Never put your life story in the whole wide world when it's not necessarily needed.

Yo to Jesus! Yo! to God....

Yo!
When all of you get busy enough, I wonder how many times you even remember you wake up!
Yo!
When your life gets so tough,
I wonder how many times you even remember when you get it right!
Yo!
When your life is so good,
You ignore those who don't have enough..I wonder, do you have a conscience to sleep so well at nights!
Yo!
When you drink that alcohol and party your life,
I wonder if you're aware that you drank your days and you are wasted enough!
Yo!
When you smoke that cigarettes and blow your breath away,
I wonder how many times you'd blow your money and how long does your body gonna stay?
Yo!
Jesus was on the cross you've heard,
To give you life but you just laughed and turned.
You've mocked, God is not real
And you see believers, your mind can kill.

You!
So long you live, you don't care,
So long you eat, you don't dare,
So long you have, you don't share,
So long you breath, you just stare,

One day!
Your life will be at end,
Your food will be at waste,
Your stuff will be rotten,
Your breath will have to be returned!
One day, when your day is near!
God will also stare!
God will say,
Why would I care?
God will say,
What shall I say?
God will say,
I gave you Jesus but you turned away
God will say,
You got ears but did not hear,
You got everything but did not share,
You got life but was unaware,
You got ME but you did not Care!
You made a choice so go your way!

Make Your U-Turn to towards God!!

God is Holy, and God is good.
In all the ways of the people, in their wickedness and filled with filthiness, they will harvest the wrath of God.
See for yourself that even if God is loving, He gives up the people who are not seeking for Him. Those who continues to do sexual immoralities and to those who continue to hate and dwell among the gossipers, adulterers, sexual addictive, lovers of self and money, material addiction, and orgies, and liars, perjurers, drunkards, nor  seductive men and women.
God will destroy people who are not changing their ways..

The Hell is waiting if you will not change your lifestyle. Therefore turn and seek God that He may spare you from judgement days.
Repent and Be Baptised..

1 Peter 4:3-5 ESV
For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry. With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you; but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

Revelation 14:10 ESV
He also will drink the wine of God's wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

There's a Good God...Therefore I have Testimony!!!

The Questions of Human Minds:
Is there a God?
If There is God!!! I would've been, could've been, should've been...

My very Witness of Life in Jesus!!!
I will share you something that would give you a bit of answer.
I might not satisfy you with it, but it's not my job to convince you or satisfy you.

Animals have life, all have hearts and blood. They can feel, they have emotions, they can be satisfied with food and care. They can't speak and their lives are not be able to be distinguished how they would live life without humans whom would see after their needs. And mankind seems to notice without a word the needs of an animal. The body language and face language are the best thing that they can use to express whenever they are satisfied and or in pain. Many people dislikes their life, many people are hopeless wasting life away. Days are very slow to some and doesn't even notice how life had been used.

Humans have life, all have hearts and blood. They can feel, they have emotions, they have thoughts, they have voice, they have a free will to choose between right and wrong. Mankind can be satisfied with many things. Can be material, emotional, words, food, clothing, shelter, literate knowledge and many more.
Without other people socialising to each other, many can become stressed, depressed, sad, lonely, and isolated. Without people loving and caring  for each other, they would grow cold and they will become bitter and pessimistic in all kinds of life. They can affect others and life is absurd. For those who live without God, they just live life like it's not important if they would die now, for they just want to satisfy themselves in all that they find and can be bought. Some would just not care what they say and do, some would just express even their evil thoughts towards others.

All of the things upon the earth HAVE LIFE,  MANKIND  And ANIMALS have breath and others have life and works in different ways.

Even if you argue with all your theologies about science and evolution with me.
Never will I accept that I am a monkey. For my hands are two that they may work accordingly with my brain, and my feet may walk wherever I want to go in according to my command.
That my voice are clearly spoken and I can command my body to follow what I want to do, my brain works and my thoughts comes from nowhere that I may establish my ways for the fullness of a day.
I am created in God's image, fearfully and wonderfully made. That I may have dominion over the birds, the animals, the fish, the sky, the land, and over the sea.
That I may choose to do good things towards other creations of God and that I may live a good life and have a good influence of character towards my children and other people.

I breath life everyday and even at nights when I'm in bed.. I might not know what would happen tomorrow if I would wake up and see the world again, I would not know if I would touch my kids again, love again, and kiss my husband's lips. As I would lay in bed, I wouldn't be sure if tomorrow, I can look at people's eyes and tell them that I like them, I love them and I would like to drink a coffee with them. For I  am sure that my every day is written in the book of God, which is my book.
I breath and plan what to do for the next day, and the other day and the next year and what to do for the future. Yet all my plans change through time. I understood, because I am human, I can change my mind like the wind. I can shift my feet to go to the left rather than my plan to go the right.

Now I've seen God's glory, expressed through all the living things around me. I challenged myself therefore to know what is the truth. And yes, I found indeed.

God holds every breath of human life. When time is up, you are gone in a second. In few years time, some may remember you, and some may forget you. Some may remember your good deeds and some may remember your evil ways.
Some may not even care, and some might be happy you are gone.

God does not change and His love endures forever.
It's not late, to have faith in God.

For Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life, No one comes to the Father except through Jesus.
For there is no salvation in No One Else.

Your career, religious traditions, money, house, literate knowledge, this will never give salvation to your soul. Your body will die but your soul will live and it will be the one whom will face the judgment of the Lord.

"evidence of God’s existence. The Bible states, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world” (Psalm 19:1-4). Looking at the stars, understanding the vastness of the universe, observing the wonders of nature, seeing the beauty of a sunset—all of these things point to a Creator God. If these were not enough, there is also evidence of God in our own hearts. Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us, “…He has also set eternity in the hearts of men.” Deep within us is the recognition that there is something beyond this life and someone beyond this world. We can deny this knowledge intellectually, but God’s presence in us and all around us is still obvious. Despite this, the Bible warns that some will still deny God’s existence: “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (Psalm 14:1). Since the vast majority of people throughout history, in all cultures, in all civilizations, and on all continents believe in the existence of some kind of God, there must be something (or someone) causing this belief."

Surely, because I believed in the name of Jesus.. my name is written in the Book of Life. And I would like that you also would know, that you are loved by God and He is waiting for you to confess your sins, believe  in Jesus, be baptized and keep your faith and you will be saved.

Family - Biblically

*Children are blessings from the Lord.
Psalms 127:3 - Lo, children [are] an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb [is his] reward.

*Jesus gives a big space to the Children because their soul is still pure than a grown up. The children can be easily influenced,
Matthew 19:14 - But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

*Parents and adults are the trainors and examples of the children,. do not despise the children but be their guide and teacher.
Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

*Children have angels of their own, so are we when we were younglings, we were just so stubborn to be fooled by the world that we lost our own angels.*
Matthew 18:10 - Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

*You fathers, do not think you are alwasy right. let your children speak from their mind and listen to them. A good father is a good listener. wrath is not the answer to make children obey you.*
Ephesians 6:4 - And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

*Let your children do mistake, so they would learn. correct them by kind words.*
Proverbs 22:15 - Foolishness [is] bound in the heart of a child; [but] the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

*Childrens - listen to your father and never abandon your mother.*

*Honor thy parents and keep thy mouth from cursing them. Because the wrath of God will eat you up in times of your lives.*
Mark 7:10 - For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:

*Let thy children correct you when you're mistaken, most of the time even when we are adult, we cant make things perfectly and the eyes of a child are sincere and pure that we must as well listen when they point our mistake. do not beat them whenever they speak out our mistakes, bt hold on and listen to what they have in heart, and accept..we must learn to say sorry too..
Proverbs 23:13 - Withhold not correction from the child: for [if] thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

*Let us build up confidence to our children. Let us help them build their dreams. Do not take over them, and let them dream of their own dream.  encourage them, and let them do the good works of the Lord. Support them by prayer and loving kindness of they mouth, thy heart and thy actions.
Colossians 3:21 - Fathers, provoke not your children [to anger], lest they be discouraged.

What does mean Perfect?

Many of us can define the word Perfect.
or by means we even can discuss in group or privately about certain person whether they are perfect or not.
We got our differences of scales on what Perfect means.
But that's our human scales and ideologies.
what about God?
how does He define Perfect according to the Bible?

If we read the books of Kings and Chronicles, we see that the kings were more or less
assessed by whether or not their hearts were perfect toward God. Of Asa, Jehoshaphat,
Hezekiah, and others, it is said that they had a heart perfect toward God. But the great example of a man whose heart was perfect toward God was David. He was the measuring stick against
which other kings were assessed.
Keep in mind that we are not talking about a heart that is perfect, but a heart that is perfecttoward God.

David was not always morally perfect. As you know, he committed adultery.
Although the Scripture does not condone adultery, it is not here speaking about moral
perfection; rather, it is speaking of David’s attitude toward God.

In Exodus 20:1–3 we find the first requirement for having a heart that is perfect toward
God. “And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out
of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.”
To be perfect toward God means that one has no other gods before Him. The real issue for David,
and for us, is “Who is your god?”

When we say PERFECT towards God, means it is not defined if you are good by what the people sees, or if you are better than the other by physical eyes and activities.

It means, are you doing what God says is right? Are you doing what is according to God's commands?

So ask yourself..
Who is Your God????

Taming Your Tongue / A Self-control in your Mouth

What does the BIBLE say about our tongues?

is it just normal for you to curse? To speak evil of others..to speak some jokes and override topics that are not real?

do you like to indulge in a talk or in a gossip about certain people?

do you curse your wife..husband, parents friends, God and your boss and colleagues?

Well, honestly I was one of this people before. I've learned to change since I met the Lord Jesus.

Let's see what the bible says about it?

Proverbs 12:18 ESV / 728 helpful votes

There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
James 3:2-10 ESV / 713 helpful votes

For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. ...

Matthew 12:33-37 ESV / 337 helpful votes

“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit. You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. James 4:1-17 ESV / 144 helpful votes

What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”? ...

1 John 2:1-29 ESV / 103 helpful votes

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: ...

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
Romans 12:1-21 ESV / 79 helpful votes

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. ...
1 Corinthians 13:1-13 ESV / 78 helpful votes

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; ...
1 Corinthians 2:1-16 ESV / 70 helpful votes

And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. ...
Proverbs 15:28 ESV / 65 helpful votes

The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.
Luke 8:13-16 ESV / 63 helpful votes

And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away. And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature. As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience. “No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light.
Matthew 23:1-39 ESV / 62 helpful votes

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat, so practice and observe whatever they tell you—but not what they do. For they preach, but do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, ...

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Isaiah 1:1-31 ESV / 59 helpful votes

The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah. Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth; for the Lord has spoken: “Children have I reared and brought up, but they have rebelled against me. The ox knows its owner, and the donkey its master's crib, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.” Ah, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the Lord, they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they are utterly estranged. Why will you still be struck down? Why will you continue to rebel? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. ...

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
James 1:1-27 ESV / 55 helpful votes

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes in the Dispersion: Greetings. Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. ...
Psalm 19:14 ESV / 50 helpful votes

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Ephesians 4:1-32 ESV / 49 helpful votes

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, ...
Romans 7:1-25 ESV / 48 helpful votes

Or do you not know, brothers—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only as long as he lives? For a married woman is bound by law to her husband while he lives, but if her husband dies she is released from the law of marriage. Accordingly, she will be called an adulteress if she lives with another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she marries another man she is not an adulteress. Likewise, my brothers, you also have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God. For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death. ...

By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Psalm 64:1-10 ESV / 47 helpful votes

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from dread of the enemy. Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the throng of evildoers, who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows, shooting from ambush at the blameless, shooting at him suddenly and without fear. They hold fast to their evil purpose; they talk of laying snares secretly, thinking, “Who can see them?” ...

Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.
1 Timothy 2:1-15 ESV / 46 helpful votes

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, ...

A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.
James 2:1-26 ESV / 42 helpful votes

My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, “You sit here in a good place,” while you say to the poor man, “You stand over there,” or, “Sit down at my feet,” have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him? ...

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. ...

2 Thessalonians 1:1-12 ESV / 37 helpful votes

Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing. Therefore we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions that you are enduring. This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering— ...

Now when the Pharisees gathered to him, with some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem, they saw that some of his disciples ate with hands that were defiled, that is, unwashed. (For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands, holding to the tradition of the elders, and when they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions that they observe, such as the washing of cups and pots and copper vessels and dining couches.) And the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with defiled hands?” ...

Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.

Proverbs 12:17-23 ESV / 35 helpful votes

Whoever speaks the truth gives honest evidence, but a false witness utters deceit. There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment. Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan peace have joy. No ill befalls the righteous, but the wicked are filled with trouble. ...

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days. Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. ...

In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach, until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” ...

Whoever meddles in a quarrel not his own is like one who takes a passing dog by the ears. Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, “I am only joking!” For lack of wood the fire goes out, and where there is no whisperer, quarreling ceases. As charcoal to hot embers and wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome man for kindling strife. ...

Ephesians 5:1-8 ESV / 33 helpful votes

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. ...

1 Corinthians 4:1-21 ESV / 32 helpful votes

This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy. But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God. ...

There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.

1 John 3:1-24 ESV / 29 helpful votes

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure. Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. ...

As charcoal to hot embers and wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome man for kindling strife. The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels; they go down into the inner parts of the body. Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out my hand and no one has heeded, because you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when terror strikes you, when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. He loved to curse; let curses come upon him! He did not delight in blessing; may it be far from him! He clothed himself with cursing as his coat; may it soak into his body like water, like oil into his bones! May it be like a garment that he wraps around him, like a belt that he puts on every day!
Psalm 15:1-5 ESV / 28 helpful votes

A Psalm of David. O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart; who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend; in whose eyes a vile person is despised, but who honors those who fear the Lord; who swears to his own hurt and does not change; who does not put out his money at interest and does not take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.

After the uproar ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, and after encouraging them, he said farewell and departed for Macedonia. When he had gone through those regions and had given them much encouragement, he came to Greece. There he spent three months, and when a plot was made against him by the Jews as he was about to set sail for Syria, he decided to return through Macedonia. Sopater the Berean, son of Pyrrhus, accompanied him; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy; and the Asians, Tychicus and Trophimus. After the death of Ahab, Moab rebelled against Israel. Now Ahaziah fell through the lattice in his upper chamber in Samaria, and lay sick; so he sent messengers, telling them, “Go, inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I shall recover from this sickness.” But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say to them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? Now therefore thus says the Lord, You shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone up, but you shall surely die.’” So Elijah went.
